Demonstration in the editor
This demonstration runs in the editor on a copy of a sample family. It does not change your own chart.

Procedure

  1. 1

Hold Ctrl and scroll, or pinch on a trackpad, to zoom in or out.

  2. 2

Drag an empty part of the canvas to move the view.

  3. 3

Press 0, or click Fit everyone in the bottom strip, to bring the whole family into view.

  4. 4

Press 1, or click Focus person in the bottom strip, to centre the view on the index person.

  5. 5

Press / and type part of a name. A list of matching people opens under the search box.

  6. 6

Press ↵ Enter, or click a name in the list, to select that person and bring the person into view.

  7. 7

To give the canvas the whole window, click the full-screen button in the top bar.

Tip

Click the zoom percentage in the bottom strip to return to 100%. In full screen, the scroll wheel zooms without Ctrl.
