What happens to your notes
The text that you submit for drafting is sent to an AI model. The chart itself is saved only in your browser.
Two kinds of data are involved in drafting. The text that you paste or type is sent through the Genogram Builder server to an AI model, which prepares the draft. The chart is kept in your browser and is not stored in an account or on a server.
When a draft is added to an open chart, or when you type an instruction to the Assistant, the chart is also sent to the server, so that the draft can be linked to the people on it. The server passes the names, years and relationships of those people to the AI model, and it leaves out hidden people and sticky notes. Clinical mode changes only what is shown and exported, so the model receives the real names even when it is on.
Procedure
- 1
Under This text is, click the option that describes the text. For Client notes, the sheet adds a reminder to check the policy of your placement.
- 2
If the notes concern real people, replace their names with initials or pseudonyms before you paste them.
- 3
If only the text should be sent, click Start a new genogram instead of Add to this genogram.
- 4
Read the statement at the foot of the sheet, which says what will be sent.
- 5
Review the draft before you add it. Nothing is added to the chart until you click the add button at the foot of the side panel.
The example that Try the example loads is replayed from a recording, so nothing from it is sent to the AI model.
Before you enter any client details into an AI tool, check the policy of your placement or university.
Saving and exporting
The chart is saved in this browser while Auto-save is on, and it does not leave the device when it is saved. A draft remains in its frame on the canvas, marked as not added, until you add it or discard it.
Exports are files that are saved to your own device. A JSON project file contains the full chart with real names, even when Clinical mode is on, and it should therefore not be shared if the chart concerns real people.
