How your notes and genograms are handled

These statements describe how the product works today on every plan.

Your drawings stay in your browser
Genograms are saved in the browser you draw in. A copy reaches our server only when you choose Save to account.
Notes are sent only to prepare a draft
When you draft from notes, the text is sent to the AI service that prepares the draft, and the draft returns to you for review. We do not use your notes or genograms to train AI models.
Account copies are private
Only you can open the genograms saved to your account. Deleting your account deletes them.
Use fictional or de-identified details
Genogram Builder is a drawing tool, not a clinical record system, and it does not sign business associate agreements. Follow the rules of your course, placement or employer for real client information.

Billing and cancellation

Payments are processed by Stripe. Genogram Builder never sees your card number.

  • Prices are in US dollars. Tax is added at checkout where it applies.
  • Free never asks for a card and has no time limit.
  • Paid plans renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel.
  • You can cancel at any time in Settings under Plan and billing. The plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for.
  • When a plan ends, every genogram remains readable. The Free limits apply to new work, and PNG and PDF export continue with the watermark.

01What is included in Free?

Free includes 2 genograms in your account, up to 50 people in each, 5 drafts from notes a month with 4 follow-ups each, all 34 templates, PNG and PDF export with a Genogram Builder watermark, JSON backup, and publishing and copying in the Community. Nothing is charged.

02What can I do without an account?

You can draw one genogram of up to 50 people, which stays in this browser, open three featured templates and read the Community. Exports and saving need a free account.

03What is the watermark?

Exports from the Free plan carry a faint repeated Genogram Builder mark across the page and one line at the foot. It never covers names or lines. Pro and Max export without it, and JSON backups never carry it.

04How do drafts from notes work?

On Free, each draft from notes uses one of the month's 5 drafts, and each draft allows 4 follow-up instructions. Drafts renew on the first of each month at 00:00 UTC. A draft that fails is not counted. Pro and Max have no monthly limit, and short-term rate and service capacity limits still apply.

05How do I cancel?

Open Settings, choose Plan and billing, then Manage billing. Your plan remains active until the end of the period you paid for.

06What happens to existing genograms after a downgrade?

Genograms are kept and remain readable. PNG and PDF export continue with the watermark, and JSON backups are always available. To add more genograms or people beyond the Free limits, choose a paid plan.

07Does Max include a Mac app or zero-knowledge encryption?

These features are not available. Max adds unlimited genograms, notes up to 30,000 characters and sources and annotations. Genogram Builder is not a clinical record system and does not claim HIPAA compliance.
